Extreme Precipitation Events Variation and Projection in the Lancang-Mekong River Basin Based on CMIP6 Simulations

In recent years, global climate change causes more extreme precipitation events in Lancang-Mekong River Basin (Lancang-Mekong Basin). It leads to the increase of rainstorm and flood risk, which poses a threat control safety Basin. Based on data four models CMIP6, this paper selected six indexes, including PRCPTOT R10, study characteristics indexes during 1980–2020 predicted development trend 2021–2050. The results show that from 1980 2020, regions I IV showed an increasing trend, while those II III decreasing trend. From 2021 2050, all upward most increased compared with historical period. increases under scenario SSP5-8.5, is small SSP2-4.5; can better reflect floods. basin future significant, indicates it may be affected frequently by
